Dying Light 2 offers a satisfying power curve, with players starting out as relatively weak survivors before graduating into superhero status later on. One of the key abilities in that power curve is Double Jump, which will send players rocketing into the sky. However, Double Jump is also deceptively challenging to get right, and it can be fairly circumstantial. Here's how to Double Jump in Dying Light 2.
First off, Double Jump is an interesting ability but not vital to a playthrough. While it can be fun to use, it might be worth investing in Dying Light 2's other Parkour abilities before picking up Double Jump. For instance, Tic Tac requires the same base amount of Stamina to unlock, but it will come in handy far more often than Double Jump will.

For those that have already invested in Double Jump, though, the process of using it sounds simple, but is limited by one key aspect: Double Jump can only be used off of an obstacle. Players that have attempted to use it while exploring Dying Light 2's open world map may be trying to use it during normal jumps, which can make it seem as though it isn't working. The obstacle requirement is by far Double Jump's biggest drawback.
To use Double Jump, run towards a low obstacle like a car or one of the exposed air vents on a roof. Just as Aiden brings his hands down to meet the obstacle, quickly tap R1 twice. If it's been performed correctly, players will launch from the obstacle and gain a healthy bit of elevation. There will be the sound of rushing wind and a screen effect if players have performed the Double Jump skill correctly.
Double Jump is a bit restricted in its uses, but it can still come in handy.
