Alexa Bliss reappeared during the May 9 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, taking on Sonya Deville after she had been relieved of her management responsibilities in storyline on the show. The return was not announced by the company and caught fans of Five Feet of Fury off guard. Bliss would go on to pick up the win and followed that up by downing Deville once again on the May 16 showing of Raw.
It was the first time Bliss had appeared on television since February's Elimination Chamber premium live event, but even leading up to that show, she had been used sparingly on TV. With Bray Wyatt's Fiend character long gone, Bliss had last appeared on an episode of Monday Night Raw on August 9, 2021. At the conclusion of her Extreme Rules match against Charlotte Flair, The Queen destroyed Bliss' doll, Lilly, leading to speculation that once Alexa returned to action, it'd be with a new gimmick.

That turned out to be accurate, although not in a way many in the audience could have predicted. Bliss has seemingly returned to her the gimmick that she was using in NXT before turning heel, which is that of a happy-to-be-here face who smiles and waves to members of the crowd en route to the ring. Her glee is so over the top that it seems almost tongue-in-cheek, and she still has Lilly by her side during her matches. Considering all this, one has to wonder whether or not seeds are already being planted for Bliss to return to her more demented ways in the near future.
It's not hyperbole to state that Bliss might not have made it out of developmental without a well-executed heel turn on the faltering WWE NXT gold and black. She joined the dastardly tag team of Blake and Murphy,
