Gorr the God Butcher looks different than expected in the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, but he could still change to match his comic form at some point during the MCU movie. The fourth Thor installment will follow the titular superhero's journey to achieve inner peace after the events of Avengers: Endgame. However, this journey is complicated by the threat of Gorr, who aims to kill all gods because of their apathy toward other beings.
Although it's exciting to see Gorr in the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, there is understandable disappointment in the fact that he looks different in his MCU portrayal compared to his appearance in Marvel comics. With no prosthetics or computer-generated effects, Gorr has mostly human features in the movie. There are some similarities, such as Gorr’s black and white skin and yellow eyes, but he does not resemble humans in the comics. Born on a planet without a name, Gorr is a white alien with tentacles growing from his head and the absence of a nose.

Gorr may not maintain his human-like appearance throughout Thor: Love and Thunder, however. Due to exposure to his Necrosword, All-Black, he may transform to take his comic form. In Marvel comics, Necroswords are symbiotes that manifest as powerful weapons, capable of killing divine beings. Specifically, All-Black was forged in the corpse of a Celestial and drew energy from those whom it was used to kill. This allowed All-Black to give its wielder superhuman strength, speed, and durability along with supernatural powers like matter and energy manipulation. Due to extended use of the Necrosword, Gorr may slowly become more similar to his comic counterpart during Thor:
