Game of Thrones fans will be nervous about how House of the Dragon will turn out, given the nosedive HBO's flagship series took in its last few seasons. The show has officially wrapped filming for season one, and if it's any indicator, George R.R. Martin loves it. The spin-off will be set 200 years before the events of GoT and tell of house Targaryen's rise to power.
"Exciting news out of London – I am informed that shooting has wrapped for the first season of House Of The Dragon," said Martin via a blog post. "Yes, all ten episodes. I have seen rough cuts of a few of them, and I’m loving them. Of course, a lot more work needs to be done. Special effects, color timing, score, all the post production work. But the writing, the directing, the acting all look terrific. I hope you will like them as much as I do. My hat is off to Ryan and Miguel and their team, and to our amazing cast."

The show will be based on Martin's Fire and Blood book. While we don't have an exact premiere date, the series is set to come out some time this year. The cast includes Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Paddy Considine as Viserys Targaryen, Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling.
Martin was also a bit cheeky about the premiere date, "When will the dragons dance?" he teased. "I wish I could tell you. Lots of work remains to be done, as I said, and covid makes planning difficult. This spring? Unlikely. Maybe summer? Could be. Fall? Who knows? You’ll know when we do."
Considering House of the Dragon is a prequel, there won't be too many heart-wrenching and unexpected deaths that Martin will be able to surprise us with. However, the
