The period creature feature The Cursed, formerly known as Eight For Silver, has received a new trailer and theatrical release date. Writer and director Sean Ellis' horror film premiered at Sundance Film Festival under the previous title as a virtual entry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A trailer playing ahead of 2022's Scream confirmed that the title changed to The Cursed. The story revolves around the Laurent family, whose patriarch Seamus (played by Alistair Petrie) committed terrible acts against a Romani clan and caused a curse to envelop the land.
The film's distribution company, Elevation Pictures, has unveiled an official trailer on twitter, which confirms that it will come to theaters on February 18, 2022. The period setting of late 19th-century France plays host to an ominous atmosphere, supernatural scarecrow feature, and a supposed werewolf attack that the visiting pathologist John McBride (Boyd Holbrook) must investigate. A set of silver teeth are also prominently on display in the trailer, showing up later on fused into the mouth of a struggling child. Check out the trailer and poster below:
