Death in the Water 2 is a new survival horror game that will introduce players to a whole new layer of underwater terror. The game is being developed by a tiny independent studio Lighthouse Games, setting it apart from some upcoming high-budget horror titles, including the widely advertised Callisto Protocol.
Recently, the upcoming sci-fi horror game Callisto Protocol has shown off a new gameplay trailer, vividly demonstrating the title’s brutal and gory action. Directed by one of the Dead Space co-creators, the game has similar vibes when it comes to combat encounters in tight corridors and discomforting environments. Some of the weapons that players would be utilizing against horrific monsters can be used to gradually dismember foes. Compared to that, another in-development horror game — Death in the Water 2 — is probably way less action-packed.

As reported by GAMINGbible, Death in the Water 2 is a new underwater horror survival game developed by a team of two passionate creators that make up a small independent studio, Lighthouse Games. The events of the project take place in frightening ocean depths where players will encounter various dangers, including both real-life and fictional ones. While there are common threats like terrifying-looking sharks (an Assassin's Creed staple, but ones who can lend assistance in Death in the Water 2 as well) and venomous sea snakes, Lighthouse Games' underwater world is also inhabited by unsightly mermaids and hydras. The creatures are controlled by Death itself in the form of a giant Kraken, and judging by the fact the monster is listed among other enemies, players will probably meet it face to beak at some point.
