A Tideripper is one of the many machines Aloy will face off against in Horizon Forbidden West. As she explores this brave new world on a quest to put an end to a plague, she'll discover machine types that she's never seen before. Like the monster in Horizon Zero Dawn, each one has its strengths and weaknesses. Aloy needs to exploit these weaknesses to make bringing down machines faster. The player will encounter the Tideripper during the Sea of Sands quest and in the open world.
When playing through the Sea of Sands quest, Aloy must journey through the desert to find the lost city of Las Vegas. This is also the same mission where players can unlock the Diving Gear in Horizon Forbidden West. It's an item that will allow Aloy to breathe underwater without going up for air. It's recommended to be at least level 22 before participating in this mission. Any less might make the Tideripper too challenging to complete.

To defeat the Tideripper, the player will need to bring Shock and Frost projectiles. The objective of this battle is to cause the Tideripper to appear drenched. This will substantially increase how much damage it takes from Shock and Frost projectiles. In addition, there will be two Purgewater Sacs to the side of the Tideripper. Break them to cause the Tideripper to become drenched.
Although, it's recommended to break one Purgewater Sac at a time. Doing both simultaneously will limit how much damage Aloy's Spear can do. Once the drenched state is over from the first sac, break the other one to make the most out of the time available.
