Tibia Mariner is a unique boss that you can find in Summonwater Village, Limgrave. The boss holds a horn while riding a small boat. Fighting the boss is optional, and you can progress in the story without facing him. Defeating the boss will get you the Deathroot and Skeletal Militiaman Ashes. Deathroot is a very important item that you need to unlock areas, quests, and progress the story further.
The boss appears in two more locations and has the same move set as the first one. However, they will be more difficult as compared to the first one as they are located in high-level areas.
