Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Leaks Show Character Skins May Be Closer Than Ever
The long-rumored character skins in may be closer to arriving than ever, according to a new sequence of leaks for Version 3.0. Alternative character outfits have not been made official in the game despite the many rumors that the system will be introduced, much like those in HoYoverse’s other RPG,. These outfits don’t necessarily bring any gameplay value other than the aesthetic appreciation for certain units. The turn-based RPG has already teased alternative skins for characters, like the one unlocked by March 7th (Hunt) in , who swaps outfits when she changes Paths.
Other than this Path-related outfit, more alternative skins have been previously teased by HoYoverse. Before her Swordmaster outfit, March 7th temporarily wore a special dress during the Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream. Aside from the Astral Express member, the Stellaron Hunter Kafka has also been seen without her traditional jacket during the Xianzhou Luofu story arc. There have been numerous mentions of a cosmetic-exclusive outfit for March 7th and a character skin for Kafka in , but HoYoverse has yet to tease more details. Nevertheless, new leaks hint at skins arriving soon.
According to information provided by the leaker known as Kazusa, which was shared in a post tagged as “” on Reddit, character skins have been worked on since the Version 1.4 beta in 2023. The current Version 3.0 beta tests have allegedly added more information about skins. The leaker mentions that skins will be purchasable from a specific shop section, possibly like the character outfit section of ’s in-game store. Furthermore, Kazusa mentions that the currency used to purchase skins is still unknown, but that the default item rarity for character outfits in will be 4-star.
Players may be able to claim a free character in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, but the leaked selection of characters offered in the gift is terrible.
