A recent Honkai: Star Rail leak has surfaced online, suggesting version 2.1 will give out free pulls that can be used to get playable characters and Light Cones from time-exclusive banners. Due to the celebrations for Chinese New Year, Honkai: Star Rail 2.0 will last one week longer than usual, with version 2.1 set to be released in late March. Aside from Rail Passes, the upcoming update will supposedly give away at least one free character in celebration of the first anniversary.
Lately, Honkai: Star Rail has received a lot of praise for its generosity and captured the hearts of players with lucrative rewards like free pulls and characters. At the start of version 1.6, the gacha-based RPG gave out a free copy of Dr. Ratio, the newest five-star character that was expected to be a part of a time-limited banner. In every update, Honkai: Star Rail players were able to get thousands of Stellar Jades that translated into dozens of pulls.
According to Dimbreath, a reliable leaker within the community, Honkai: Star Rail version 2.1 will give away 20 free pulls (Special Rail Passes) in the span of seven days. These tickets can be used on the upcoming banners to unlock 2.1 characters, such as Aventurine and Acheron, and their Light Cones. There is a likelihood that HoYoverse will split 20 free Special Rail Passes in half and give players 10 in both phases.
One thing to note is that these freebies will likely be separate from the usual Gift of Odyssey, a recurring event that gives players at least ten pulls in every update. However, it's also possible that half of the Rail Passes will be available through the aforementioned event. Players will have to wait until the end of March to see if there are more freebies to claim in Honkai: Star Rail version 2.1.
Honkai: Star Rail will see changes to its banner lineup when new characters make their debut in version 2.1 next month. Alongside rerun units, Acheron will be available to claim in the first phase of the update. With the release
