Team Cherry's Hollow Knight was a massive success and critical darling, praised for its marriage of Soulslike and Metroidvania elements, gripping atmosphere, and gorgeous artwork. Considering how popular the original Hollow Knight is, it's no surprise that anticipation is high for the sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, even though updates on the game have been basically nonexistent for nearly three years at this point. However, a new development suggests that Hollow Knight: Silksong could very well be at the upcoming Summer Game Fest event on June 9, though fans should keep their expectations in check.
The buzz started when Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley tweeted out, «There's nothing like the feeling of seeing a good world premiere arrive in your inbox.» This tease by itself is way too vague for anyone to determine what game Keighley could be hinting at, but then Matthew Griffin, who is handling the marketing and publishing for Hollow Knight: Silksong, responded to it, leading to speculation that it could be referring to Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Griffin simply said that he approves of the tease, which has proven to be enough to hype up the Hollow Knight community. A Twitter user then asked Griffin what he meant by his comment, and he replied, «I think the whole 'world premiere' thing means only Geoff knows.» Besides Hollow Knight: Silksong, Griffin is also involved with the Kickstarter-funded Crowsworn, so it's possible he could be teasing an appearance by that game instead.
