Vin Diesel is getting back in the video game fold as he teases an Ark: Survival Evolved movie adaptation may be in development. Developed and published by Studio Wildcard, the action-adventure game puts players in the shoes of their own created character in an open world populated by a variety of creatures and dangers, including dinosaurs and other hostile players. Ark: Survival Evolved tasks players with taming creatures, building structures and forming tribes with other players to survive in the world.
Hitting most platforms in 2017, Ark: Survival Evolved debuted to generally mixed reviews from critics for its overwhelming difficulty, menial grind-reliant system and performance issues on the Nintendo Switch port, namely a lower resolution and frame rate. Despite the initial troubled reception, Ark: Survival Evolved became a financial hit for Studio Wildcard, selling over one million copies on steam within a month of its release and selling a combined 7 million copies across Windows and Xbox One before even hitting shelves. This success helped spawn multiple DLC packs and two spin-off games, Ark Park and PixArk, and as development continues on Ark II, fans of the franchise may have exciting news coming in the near future.
