Clare (Talia Ryder) is a high school teen who has been seriously disillusioned by the concept of a high school romance after witnessing the messiness of her parents' relationship, which began as high school sweethearts. After years of moving around and being dragged through her mother’s many romances, Clare has developed a romance complex. She is determined to be practical and realistic with her own high school romance. After a meet-cute with the charismatic Aidan (Jordan Fisher), Clare informs him of her intent to not take her high school romances with her to college. Despite the warning signs that she and Aidan like each other, they date throughout their senior year until the looming expiration date of their relationship becomes a reality. The course of the story follows the two as they embark on their final date, which is filled with activities that call back to sentimental experiences throughout their time together.
