It's been a year of surprises so far, with the likes of Palworld andHelldivers 2 witnessing resounding success in the first few months. For Helldivers 2, the growth was so unprecedented that players ended up having to wait for hours just to get into the game. Thankfully, things have improved significantly now, with the developers also increasing the server capacity of Helldivers 2 to support an astounding 800,000 concurrent users at any given point. And it seems like the developers' efforts aren't going in vain, as the game's sales continue to grow.
As highlighted in a tweet by the Head of GamesIndustry.biz Christopher Dring, Helldivers 2 has now cemented its position at the 4th spot in the UK physical charts. This comes after the game witnessed 20% growth in its third week. However, the most remarkable aspect is that this is the second consecutive week that Helldivers 2 has witnessed growth, which is something quite rare. It has also been noted that digital sales reports aren't out yet since they take a bit longer to come in.
On the other hand, Mario vs Donkey Kong has slipped to the third position with a 62% drop in sales. Perhaps one of the most significant drops has been experienced by Skull and Bones, which has plummeted all the way down to the 16th position with a 68% drop in sales. For the record, the previous week had Mario vs Donkey Kong at number 1, Skull and Bones at number 4, and Helldivers 2 at number 7. That being said, the dip isn't quite surprising, as Skull and Bones' deteriorating Metacritic score served as a harbinger.
