Since its release a couple of weeks ago, Helldivers 2 has shown no signs of slowing down, and even amidst widespread server and technical issues (which developer Arrowhead Game Studios is looking to address with imminent patches, the first of which has already released), the co-op shooter is continuing to attract players in numbers.
We recently reported that the game had crossed a peak of 400,000 concurrent players on Steam, putting it ahead of even heavyweights like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Destiny 2 by that particular metric, and those numbers have only continued to grow.
As per SteamDB, Helldivers 2 has now set a new peak of over 457,000 concurrent players on Steam, an impressive number made that much more impressive by the fact that the game hit it in the middle of the week, which isn’t something we see with concurrent player numbers all too often.
Incidentally, having leapfrogged the likes of Sons of the Forest and Among Us, Helldivers 2 has climbed further up Steam’s charts for all-time high concurrent player peaks, with the 20th highest peak a game has ever hit on Steam.
Helldivers 2 is available on PC and PS5. Read our review of the game through here.
