According to Reddit user DevoitedSoul, they had been fighting Godfrey for four hours before their heartbreaking final run. Getting stuck for this long is understandable, though, as Godfrey ranks close to bosses like Radahn, Radagon, and Malenia in terms of difficulty. What makes him so challenging is that his first and second forms are entirely different, as he transforms from a traditional boss into something more unique. As Hoarah Loux, Godfrey unleashes numerous grab attacks, all of which are devastating and tough to dodge.

It was this sudden switch in movesets and a bulky health bar that likely made Godfrey a nightmare for DevoitedSoul, with the boss similar to Maliketh in the sense that the second stage requires near perfection or a lot of flasks to complete. After several hours of trying, though, it looked like the Redditor was about to find success. From the very start of the clip, Godfrey’s health bar is incredibly low, with DevoitedSoul able to sneak in a heal before getting grabbed. This quick thinking saved their life, and after healing once more, they closed in on Godfrey to land the final hit.
