Bandai Namco has announced a new set of Hatsune Miku Tamagotchi that are sure to be a 2000s kid’s dream. Even though they were initially released over two and a half decades ago, the handheld digital pet toy is still pretty popular, selling over 83 million units worldwide. Apart from many versions of the regular Tamagotchi, special collaborative editions have also been released over the years. One of the most recent is the set of official Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Tamagotchi that were announced last March and are set to be released in Japan this October.

Her endearing character design, along with the ability for fans to create their own songs and media featuring her vocals, made Hatsune Miku’s presence explode online. Apart from the thousands of songs featuring the character’s voice, Hatsune Miku has appeared in other forms of media like anime and video games. This includes the recently released, SEGA released Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix+ on Steam. The rhythm game is a re-release of 2020’s Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix for the Nintendo Switch but with additional songs and features.
