Recent DC Comics solicits unveiled a haunting cover for G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara's Poison Ivy #3, featuring Harley Quinn grieving Poison Ivy's fading humanity. As revealed in Poison Ivy #1, Ivy's time is running out, but before she dies, Ivy has one last horrifying plan to see to fruition: the sixth mass extinction.
Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are DC Comics' prominent lesbian couple that fans can't get enough of. The two women have always been inseparable, but when Harley separated from the Joker, sparks flew, and their friendship transformed into romance. Despite their popularity, the couple has seen its highs and lows, most recently with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's break-up sparking controversy. With current storylines pushing Harley as an anti-hero, it's only natural that their newly conflicting morals would cause tension.

In a preview on League of Comic Geeks, Jessica Fong's cover for Poison Ivy #3 shows that love is not lost between the two as Harley clutches a mutating Ivy in despair. Harley Quinn looks distraught as she holds onto Poison Ivy, who is being consumed by mushrooms. Primarily done in black and white, Harley and Ivy’s images contrast each other, with a lighter Harley glowing against Ivy’s dark gray coloring. Pops of red are also present in the artwork, boldly woven into the fungus surrounding Ivy yet fading out of her hair. This faded red color is also utilized in Harley Quinn’s costume, who appears resigned to Poison Ivy’s fate as her humanity is torn away.
