It's no surprise that Wolverine's limited edition Halo boots are being scalped, considering the workwear company is only making 117 of the Master Chief-inspired boots. The prices that fans are willing to pay for the boots on the secondary market are a little more surprising, with listings already seeing purchases as high as $2000.
The collaboration between Halo and Wolverine was announced earlier in March, with the footwear company explaining that it was inspired by people pointing out that their existing Hellcat boot already looked like something out of Halo. Only 117 of the boots were released for sale on March 29, but many of those confirmed sales have already made their way onto the second-hand market, to be sold again for a huge profit.

A quick look at sold listings on eBay shows that the resale price of the Halo boots shot up quickly, with the first listings going for around $400, and later listings selling for anywhere between $1000 and $2000. Those who managed to order direct from Wolverine would have only paid the retail price of $225.
It looks like a decent percentage of the 117 pairs are currently circulating in the second-hand market, with 24 listings currently live on eBay. The original sale on Wolverine's website sold out in under a minute, according to some disappointed would-be buyers.
Fans who missed out on the original drop and don't have over a grand to spend on boots still have one slim chance to get their hands on a pair of the Halo boots, with the 117th pair
