There are two major criminal gangs that plague Cantha: the Jade Brotherhood and the Speakers. In this article, we'll discuss the Speakers. What are they speaking about? Who are they led by? Why do they hate the Jade Brotherhood? All will be revealed.
Keep in mind that, for human Canthan names, the first name is the family name and the second name is the individual's name.

The Speakers were not always a criminal gang. Their group arose when Jade technology became more and more prevalent in Cantha, and it was made up of people who were concerned about its rapid introduction into everyday lives. They simply wanted jade technology to be introduced more slowly. However, it was soon taken over by Tetra Earthcall.
Tetra is a warden, which is a species of plant-based humanoids who are protectors of the Echovald Forest. She hates humans and all dragonjade technology. Tetra twisted the people's good intentions and riled them up to create the Speakers we know today, made up of human, kestral, and warden forces.

The Speakers are essentially eco terrorists (people trying to preserve the environment through drastic measures). They believe jade technology is ruining the natural world.
