To prepare the players for new, exciting content, Guild Wars 2 releases a new, exciting elite Specialization for every class when they release a new expansion! The Mechanist Specialization for engineers allows them to wield maces and summon a giant jade mech to aid them in combat.

The build we detail here is for the open-world (where many of us spend most of our time in Guild Wars 2) so that you'll be fully equipped to handle whatever is thrown at you. After all, you're exploring a brand-new continent: Cantha!

This Mechanist build is pretty easy and reliable, making it excellent for open-world play because you may come across players who don't know what they're doing (or you may be one yourself) and the situations you're in can vary wildly.
This build focuses primarily on explosions and bleeding. The rifle weapon and your mech can deal out significant bleeding, while the bomb kit and your mech create fantastic explosions. Going between your rifle and bomb kit will keep you going between short-range and mid-range, but you can also use a mace and shield to stay short-range, if that's your preference.
