Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons release date finally revealed

As promised in last week’s announcement, ArenaNet has just revealed the release date for Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons. ArenaNet said it would be sometime in February, and so it shall be. The last day of the month, to be precise: mark your calendars for February 28. And then apply for a week off from work, because that’s a Monday.

ArenaNet didn’t just reveal the Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons release date. It also released a new gameplay trailer to whet your appetite for what awaits you in the MMORPG’s third expansion. The trailer shows off many of the new features End of Dragons will add to Guild Wars 2, as well as a hint at the perils lurking in Cantha.

No one outside of the mysterious continent knows what has been going on in Cantha for the last 200 years. This is a wonderful foundation for a new chapter in the Guild Wars story. As you explore the rediscovered land, you’ll learn how the physical, cultural, and political landscape has changed. You’ll also learn about the mysterious substance known as dragonjade. It’s the source of power for Cantha’s unique technology. On your journey, your band of heroes will meet new characters who hold secrets about Tyria’s elder dragons.

In short, there are nine new Elite Specializations, new types of mounts, fishing, new zones, new Strike Missions, and a continent full of friends and foes.

If you haven’t pre-purchased your copy of End of Dragons yet, you can do so on the game’s website. There are three options to choose from: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate. All three options will reward you with a Flame Serpent Weapon Chest,
