Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, opened up about her bittersweet feelings reprising the role in Guardians Of The Galaxy 3. Since her MCU introduction in Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora has consistently appeared in the MCU among the other Guardians to confront cosmic-level threats. As the daughter of Thanos (Josh Brolin), Gamora has a reputation for her fierceness as a warrior. However, she developed a softer side during her time traveling the galaxy with Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel).
Although Gamora was last seen in the climactic final battle of Avengers: Endgame, the version seen in that film was not the character introduced to audiences in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Gamora from the known MCU perished during the events of Avengers: Infinity War at the hands of her father, Thanos, so the version of Gamora now in the MCU is one from a different timeline. The current Guardians team is set to appear in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. But, having come from a different timeline, Gamora is unfamiliar with that team—aside from her sister, Nebula (Karen Gillan)—and is no longer traveling with them.
