Hypernova Interactive has announced their GTA-inspired, open-world game, Mayanagari. Based in India, the title is now available for pre-registration for all Android users.
Mayanagari translates to ‘City of Dreams’, and is the first 3D open-world gangster title based on and developed in India. Hypernova claims that every aspect of the game, from the characters to the music, is Indian. Additionally, the story is inspired by the real-life Indian locations of Bombay and Goa.
The third-person shooter-style game focuses on a rising criminal aiming to become the city’s undisputed gangster lord. It offers five different types of weapons to choose from and some inclusion of the Hindi language. You will also come across Bollywood-style motion cutscenes with high-quality graphics. Mayanagari can easily be labelled as an Indian version of Grand Theft Auto.
The story consists of over ten missions. It also gives players over 15 different Indian vehicles to drive around and explore the city in. The title also allows players to buy their own houses and build empires with a property management system.
Mayanagari is now available for pre-registration via the Google Play Store. Pre-registration rewards include the Yamato SX15 – a special edition sports bike – upon release of the game. There hasn’t been any update on a release date for iOS as of yet.
Don’t forget to keep a lookout for future updates and our Hardcore review of the game once it is released!
