As Grey’s Anatomy seems to be nearing its end, different theories have emerged on how the series will end and what will happen to Meredith, and one sad but interesting theory links every character who has left to Meredith’s pain and ultimate fate. The world of television has seen a variety of medical dramas for decades, and one of the most recent and successful ones is Grey’s Anatomy. Created by Shonda Rhimes, Grey’s Anatomy began its run in 2005 on ABC and it has been unstoppable ever since, with a 19th season already confirmed, though its fate after that is unclear.
Grey’s Anatomy follows the stories of patients and staff at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital (formerly Seattle Grace Hospital) and all the drama that unfolds inside and outside the hospital. Grey’s Anatomy is led by Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), who viewers have seen go from intern to Head of General Surgery, but her journey hasn’t been smooth at all. Meredith’s backstory is complicated, as she didn’t have a good relationship with her mother, and joining Seattle Grace only added more drama to her life. Meredith has seen most of her close friends either leave Seattle or die, as Grey’s Anatomy has become infamous for killing some of its most beloved characters, and she has also been close to dying various times.
