But that will change next year. After several leaks, Rockstar Games revealed the announcement trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI last month. It was our first look at the return of Vice City. However, it’s also proving to be a trailer fans can’t stop watching. In fact, we’re finding out that it’s hit a new record.

You’re left out of luck if you’re looking for more Grand Theft Auto VI content. We’re waiting for the next slew of marketing materials to come out. So that means endlessly watching the only official trailer for the game. However, you’re not alone here as we’re discovering the game trailer has hit some new impressive numbers. Today, thanks to a report from IGN, we found that Grand Theft Auto VI has become the most-viewed video game trailer ever released. That is some massive numbers in a timespan of about a month. 

The Grand Theft Auto VI trailer came out in early December, and millions quickly viewed it. However, now it seems the announcement trailer for the game has surpassed over 168,000,000 views. That tops the last most viewed video game trailer, Minecraft which was at 167,000,000 views. As IGN even notes, this is a big accomplishment because Grand Theft Auto VI’s trailer has only been out since last month, while Minecraft’s trailer was released back in 2011. 

Again, there’s good reason for so many views. Fans are eager to see if there are any signs or hints of what could come in this next mainline installment. Even recently, we had a report regarding a potential new feature that might have been found in this announcement trailer. So fans will continue to dissect each frame of this game trailer to see what else Rockstar Games might have hidden away or clues to what this new Vice City could entail.
