With the public still waiting for the reveal of the next entry in the Grand Theft Autoseries, speculation about the upcoming game is becoming more rampant by the day. One fan now even took it upon themselves to create an unlikely—yet high-effort—Grand Theft Auto 6 map concept based on North Carolina.
Grand Theft Auto 6 has been the subject of countless rumors and speculation for nearly a decade by now, not least because it is the sequel to the most commercially successful entertainment product ever. Following much ado, Rockstar finally confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development back in February. But half a year later, the industry giant has yet to share any concrete details on the project — the game doesn't even have an official name just yet.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Going to Multiple Cities Sounds Far Too Ambitious
The map made by Reddit user jackie630 was inspired by over a dozen cities, municipalities, and landmarks from North Carolina. Its recognizable inspirations range from the town of Murphy in the west to the island village of Hatteras in the east, which were renamed to «Point Derby» and «Hurricane,» respectively. Likewise, at the center of the map lies Hornet, inspired by the state's largest city, Charlotte. Other major urban centers encompassed by this fan-made vision for GTA 6 include Bull City (Durham), Oaksburgh (Raleigh), and Gateway (Greensboro). The author dubbed the concept «North Cackalacky,» referencing North Carolina's actual nickname. Overall, the end result is extremely detailed-oriented, whereas the art style could very well pass for an official asset from the game that promises to set a new creative benchmark for the industry.
