Ubisoft promised that it would show the “future” of the series in September. And according to a new report, that promise will contain multiple new games.
The report in question comes from insider Tom Henderson and TryHardGuides and alleges that Ubisoft is going speak about this deluge of games during its Ubisoft Forward event on September 10. The first of which is, which Ubisoft officially announced after many leaks and reports. As is expected, the event will have a deep dive on this entry that is reportedly coming out in spring 2023.
, one of the other games on the list, has also been previously reported on, but not confirmed. This new report corroborates a previous report from insider Jeff Grubb, stating it will be set in Japan be part of, the upcoming live-service game. It also mentions that the protagonist is a “samurai-like assassin” and while the concept art showed a woman as a playable character, it’s likely that players will be able to choose to play as a man or woman much like the last two entries.
, however, is a new title from this latest report. It will allegedly also be part of and will take place during 16th century Europe and center around witch hunts. It will also apparently be the “darkest” entry in the franchise.
Axios reporter Stephen Totilo also noted that he heard of the game’s previous codename in the report — — and said it was “in the context of an effort to bring multiplayer back to the series.” But he admitted that he wasn’t sure if that was still in the works or “what form multiplayer would take.” The series hasn’t had traditional competitive multiplayer since 2014’s where players had to blend in to hide from their opponents while hunting targets of their own.
