Warner Bros. Games has announced an October 25, 2022 release date for Gotham Knights.
“Gotham will always need its heroes,” it said on Wednesday. “Suit up for an all-new adventure on 10.25.22.”
Gotham Knights is being developed by WB Games Montreal and led by creative director Patrick Redding, who previously directed Splinter Cell titles Conviction and Blacklist.
Playable either solo or in two-player co-op, it sees players assume the role of Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood or Batgirl following the death of Bruce Wayne.
Gameplay takes place in a “dynamic and interactive” open-world Gotham City where players take on villains such as Mr. Freeze using a variety of abilities, weapons and unique combat moves, according to Warner.

Initially planned for release last year, Gotham Knights was delayed to 2022 to provide “more time to deliver the best possible experience for players”.
Last month, it was claimed that Warner has delayed the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to next year.
Officially scheduled for release this year, the game will now arrive in 2023, according to Bloomberg sources said to be familiar with its development.
Developed by Batman: Arkham series creator Rocksteady Studios, the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC game is billed as a “genre-bending action-adventure shooter” set in an open-world Metropolis.
Suicide Squad was announced alongside Gotham Knights at 2020’s DC Fandome event and its first gameplay trailer was released in December 2021.
