The existence of a remaster of the iconic first-person shooter Goldeneye 007 has been rumored for some time. There's even been substantial evidence of its existence shared online, with the remaster's Xbox achievements leaking early. It's almost enough to stop calling Goldeneye 007 a rumor, except for the fact it has yet to be announced. That may be changing soon, though, as a leaker is hinting at an incoming announcement for what could be the Goldeneye 007 remaster.
The leak comes from VideoGamesChronicle editor Andy Robinson, and given the reliability of the source, it's odd to consider it a rumor. However, Robinson decided to share his news in an unspecific manner, leaving room for other possibilities. What Robinson says is that he wouldn't be surprised if «a certain super spy returns in the next few weeks.» Given the diverse range of rumors already surrounding a Goldeneye 007 remaster, it is the first and most likely possibility for what Robinson is talking about.

Given the generic idea of a super spy and the surprising diversity of spies in video games, though, it's easy to see how Robinson could be talking about something else entirely. There are a surprisingly large amount of spies that video game fans would love to see return, after all.
The replies to Robinson's tweet offer up a good number of joking possibilities. One responder mentions Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force for the Nintendo DS, another linked the box art for EA's James Pond: Underwater Agent. There are even games actually named Super Spy, like SNK's The Super Spy for the Neo Geo. There are also plenty of legitimate alternatives, however.
