New Attack on Titan crossover art depicts an extra-terrifying version of Godzilla. The popular Japanese manga series created by Hajime Isayama became a critical and commercial success shortly after its serialization in 2009. Set in a world where colossal man-eating humanoids known as Titans exist, the comic's story follows Eren Yeager, a young boy who promises to destroy all Titans after the death of his mother and the devastation of his home. Fans of Attack on Titan who are also familiar with the history of the kaiju creature and its long-running film franchise might be aware that the discourse of how Godzilla would fare against the Titans is one that has been spread for some time now, considering that the iconic monster has defeated the vast majority of its threats before.
Attack on Titan has gained even more popularity with the release of the 2013 anime television series of the same name. First premiering in Japan, the show made its way to North American audiences through services such as Crunchyroll and Netflix and has maintained a successful run with its first three seasons. Season 4, intended to be the series' final installment, was released in two parts, the first of which came out in 2020 and became the most-viewed television program in the United States for a period of time. With the rapid growth in viewership and demand for anime content, Attack on Titan has consistently ranked among the most-watched in the genre. Fans are holding out hope for a continuation of Attack on Titan for that reason, in addition to Isayama's revised final chapter.
