Godfall is a self-proclaimed Looter Slasher. Like its second cousin, the Looter Shooter, a big draw to the game is the stockpile of weapons, gubbins, and doodads you will find on your adventure, and then equipping them to increase your stats. It’s a tried and tested loop that Godfall pulls off pretty well.

Weapons are the real draw here, and whilst there may be thousands of weapons to find, they fall into categories that largely define how they will function. That’s not to say each weapon doesn’t have its own quirks - such as summoning exploding fire spirits - but it does mean every stick is going to mostly operate in the same way.
There are a total of five weapon types in Godfall, and they all serve a different niche in combat. You can beat the game with just about anything once you know the ins and outs of combat, but if you like a certain playstyle, then there is probably a specific Weapon Type just for you.
Not only that, but Orin can bring two weapons with him on any mission, giving you plenty of opportunities to mess around, experiment, and build your perfect combo. Not only that, but Godfall even has a line of skills designed around swapping weapons in combat. It’s almost like the game is encouraging you to bap enemies on the head with style.
If you want to experiment with Weapon Types in a (mostly) safe environment, then the Sanctum has a training room. To find it, go up the stairs next to the Seventh Sanctum and take a right.
