To say the Pokemon community has had fun with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s new starters would be an understatement. There is already a ton of speculation and fan art out there about them, with fans even designing their own versions of Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito evolutions. Perhaps what’s most interesting is the general consensus shared by many fans.
For example, fan art often depicts Sprigatito as a Grass/Fairy, while many think Quaxly will adopt a more knightly appearance. If there is one evolution that has fans divided, it’s Fuecoco’s. Some believe Fuecoco’s final evolution will look like a Cucafera, while others believe Fuecoco will become a Fire/Ghost-type in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The evidence for both is compelling.

This does hinge on the theorized Ghost Pepper design of Fuecoco, but it would make a lot of sense. In fact, there’s a lot of fan art out there where his face slowly evolves into a skull, and with matching bones, it would help fully realize the secondary Ghost typing. There’s a ton out there on this, but one example is seen below in Subjectively5’s fan art of Fuecoco.
Another potential hint at this is seen in Fuecoco’s name. The coco portion comes from the Spanish word for
