God Of War Ragnarok November 9 Release Date Confirmed

After months of rumours, leaks, and speculation, God of War Ragnarok finally has a confirmed release date for November 9 as announced in a brand-new cinematic trailer.

The 30-second clip shows Kratos and Atreus fighting side-by-side before our gruff and battle-hardened god-slayer gets hurled off a cliff. The battle music ensues, Kratos summons his axe, and the two, while narrating, stand side-by-side looking at the camera.

We get to hear more of Atreus' voice which is noticeably aged up as he enters his teens. In God of War (2018), he was 11 years old, but Ragnarok jumps ahead slightly as we can see in the footage below. The trailer is CG-rendered and PlayStation even shared a few screen grabs on its blog if you fancy replacing your wallpaper while you wait for the sequel to finally drop.

"We're thrilled [to] be able to share our release date and the brand-new God of War Ragnarok - Father and Son CG trailer with all the God of War fans who have been eagerly awaiting news," the blog post stated. We know a little about what we can expect from Ragnarok already—earlier this year, developer Santa Monica Studio outlined the over 60 gameplay adjustment options added to the game for accessibility, while we've also gotten our first look at Thor. He's a large, long-haired, bearded beast, no doubt gunning for Kratos after his son Magni was killed. We also know that Ragnarok will mark the end of God of War's Norse saga, so this is building up to be a bombastic finale.
