God of War: Ragnarok's Jotnar edition will likely cost around $270 when pre-orders open up in the U.S.
Earlier today on July 15, pre-orders for God of War: Ragnarok opened at retailers in the U.K. Over at retailer Game (opens in new tab), we can see that the Jotnar Edition of Ragnarok with a 16 inch replica of Thor's imposing hammer retails for a whopping £229.99, while the slightly cheaper Collector's Edition will set you back by £179.99.
Taking this information into account, it's highly likely the Jotnar Edition of God of War: Ragnarok will cost around $270 when it hits stateside. Yes, that's discounting any fluctuation for both the U.S. Dollar and Great British Pound between now and then, but this shouldn't be a problem because U.S. pre-orders open just today on July 15.
Last week, when the God of War Ragnarok release date was revealed alongside its various special editions, Sony announced both European and U.S. pre-orders would open on July 15. While European vendors are now selling various editions of the new game, Ragnarok pre-orders in the U.S. won't be open until a little later today at right around 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET.
So thankfully U.S. customers haven't got long to wait until they can put down a pre-order for either the Jotnar or Collector's Edition of Sony Santa Monica's sequel. If you didn't already know, the Jotnar Edition of Ragnarok doesn't include the physical game of the sequel, but instead contains a retail voucher that PS4 or PS5 customers can redeem for a digital version of the new game.
Meanwhile, some God of War Ragnarok fan theories claim Fenrir might actually side with Kratos and Atreus in the end.
