2018's God of War proved to be a major success for Sony, once again positioning the mythological beat-em-up as one of the key IPs in the company's repertoire. That game very clearly set up a dramatic sequel, with many of the story's biggest threads going unanswered. In the four years following the soft God of War reboot, gamers have been looking forward to hearing about the next chapter in Kratos' and Atreus' story and how it will involve the titular Norse apocalypse. Excitement for Ragnarök has been ramping since the September State of Play gameplay reveal, with God of War actors building hype for the game alongside its many talented and passionate developers.

While some gamers think that God of War Ragnarök might see another delay, a tweet from lead destruction artist Ruben Morales (via DualShockers) suggests otherwise. Morales tweeted a video of his young daughter playing the 2018 God of War, but the caption is what might draw more attention; Morales writes that his daughter "loves playing the new game" but that he can't show footage from it, so he opted to share the video of her enjoying the 2018 release instead. This, of course, implies that there is a playable build of God of War Ragnarök available.
