Sucker Punch Productions hasn’t officially spoken about what its next project is. However, some recent job listings point to it being related to, possibly even a sequel to the highly acclaimed open-world action game.
There are currently 14 listings on the jobs portion of Sucker Punch’s website, many of which the company posted in February. A few of them are fairly standard, which is likely why it didn’t garner much attention during the time. But, upon closer inspection, there are also a couple that point to or hint at. For example, the postings for a senior combat designer and technical combat designer specifically require that applicants have “played and understand its core combat systems.”
The multiplayer and network programmer listing doesn’t point as directly to the series, but does indicate that this next project (or projects) will have a multiplayer component. The introduction spells out, the game’s post-launch online mode, whereas the other listings don’t. This also implies that another would possibly launch with multiplayer if it wasn’t a separate thing entirely.
Some of the other posts are more vague, with only small morsels that could possibly be interpreted as being related to. A few, like the senior animator, AI systems designer, graphics programmer, and writer all point to an open world, the latter of which explicitly states it. There were also previous job listings that had the studio looking for someone willing to write stories in Feudal Japan.
