A new Genshin Impact revenue chart has revealed that the ongoing Hu Tao and Yelan banner managed to break the game's overall sales record. Double banners are a specific gacha mechanic that was added back in 2.3, and it allows players to acquire two limited five-star characters within the same banner cycle.
With Genshin Impact's roster constantly expanding, developer HoYoverse has introduced a pattern of including two banner re-runs with each new update. Players who want to add the Hydro user Yelan or the Pyro polearm character Hu Tao to their roster should try to do it as soon as possible since their banner is scheduled to expire on February 28.
Genshin Impact Will Introduce New Way To Get Intertwined Fates
Reddit user TimocaSamJa has shared a chart showing the incredible success of the ongoing double banner that features Hu Tao and Yelan. According to the post, the double banner has outperformed the current record holder by over $5 million. It should be noted that this chart only represents iOS devices on the Chinese servers which means that the overall numbers are even higher. Many fans have said that while they did expect the banner gather a lot of attention, they would've never guessed that it could break the revenue record, especially considering that the previous record was set just a couple of weeks before.
Both Hu Tao and Yelan are considered S-tier characters in their respective roles. There was a lot of hype for Hu Tao's re-run considering that her last banner appearance was during update 2.2 back in November 2021. Despite being one of the oldest characters in the roster, Hu Tao is still considered the strongest Pyro DPS in Genshin Impact with a specific kit playstyle that can take some time to get used to.
