The official live stream event for update 2.8 has confirmed the arrival of a brand new main nation named Sumeru. Genshin Impact's latest video gives additional information about the mysterious region.
Genshin Impact's New Map Leaks Hint Sumeru Is Bigger Than Mondstadt and Liyue Combined
Genshin Impact has revealed the second teaser video for the Sumeru region, which is expected to arrive with Genshin Impact Version 3.0. The new video confirms that Sumeru is very different from the currently available major regions as it can be divided into two main parts: rainforests and deserts. The first Sumeru teaser didn't show any parts of the desert which led many players to believe that it most likely won't be a part of the first major update. The landscape of Sumeru's rainforests gives the impression of endless mountains which are in line with Sumeru's tropical climate.
In contrast to Liyue and Inazuma, Sumeru's rocks have much gentler contours which can be seen throughout the whole area. The rainforest will have a unique type of vegetation which includes giant trees and flowers. This new video also shows a couple of locations located in Sumeru's deserts. According to previous leaks, Sumeru will become the largest major region in Genshin Impact, and it's even bigger than Mondstadt and Liyue combined. However, many fans speculate that in order to make the region seem more realistic, the desert part of the world could be empty for the most part.
