The Genshin Impact 3.0 update is set to release near the end of summer, bringing a number of new playable characters into the upcoming Sumeru region. Since launch, this is only the second major update to Genshin Impact to bring in a full region and nation, so the hype is understandably high. Ahead of the Version 2.8 update, which should arrive in July, Genshin Impact 3.0 leaks and rumors have already started to spread online.
Although dataminers have allegedly uncovered a lot of character data for Version 3.0 already, many leaks appear from beta tests. Sign-ups for the Genshin Impact 3.0 beta ended on June 13, which means it's only a matter of time before additional playable character leaks show up. In the meantime, there are some characters from the official Genshin Impact manga — like Collei and Cyno — who are from Sumeru and seem all but guaranteed to be playable at some point, even if it's not immediately at Version 3.0's release.

Months earlier, characters like the Dendro Archon of Sumeru, Kusanali, and Baizhu (who is already in-game but placed in Liyue) have long been rumored to become playable when the update finally launches later this year. Although HoYoverse hasn't officially confirmed which characters will be playable next, Genshin Impact 3.0 leaks are rampant and already point to numerous new and currently non-playable characters getting their own Banners in the Sumeru content.
