However, with the whole Inazuma arc coming to an end, the community expects a brand new major region to arrive in the upcoming months. Now developer HoYoverse has finally given more information about the content that should arrive with the next major Genshin Impact update.

The official Genshin Impact Japanese account has revealed the first trailer for the new region Sumeru. The video was originally shown during the livestream event for Genshin Impact update 2.8. The trailer reveals numerous breathtaking locations players can visit once the new region arrives. Even though leaks have been hinting at Sumeru for the last couple of months, this is the first time developer HoYoverse has confirmed that the next major update will introduce the new mysterious region. The video has confirmed previous leaks stating that Sumeru will be filled with rainforests and giant plants.
Recent rumors about Sumeru being based on two real-life locations, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, have been proven by the architectural style of the buildings shown in the video. The most exciting thing about the new major region is the fact that it will introduce a brand-new element named Dendro. At the moment there are seven different elements in world of Genshin Impact with Dendro being the only one that is not included in any character's kit.
