Project Lumina released a fistful of news and updates pertaining to its cult anime fighter Melty Blood: Type Lumina yesterday — according to the studio, not only are a plethora of fresh updates en route to the Tsukihime spin-off, but four more DLC characters will be joining the game’s roster by the end of 2022.
The developer did not reveal the identities of the new fighters, but confirmed that the first two will arrive as paid DLC on all platforms this summer, with a further two characters dropping in winter. New stages are also incoming. In addition, Project Lumina has multiple updates set to drop throughout the year, bringing various balance tweaks, bug fixes, and other elements to further fine-tune gameplay. Examples given include improved matchmaking, training mode save states, additional custom color slots, and improved lobby options. The first of these updates will launch on June 29.
Finally, an official United States tournament was also revealed. Hosted by Eliphant, the online throwdown will be held in an online capacity and will run from July 23, with several heats throughout the year leading toward a grand finals to be held in December.
