If you didn't know, mega popular battle royale game Fortnite has weather. There are weather events like tornadoes and lightning storms. There is also weather that affects the game graphically so that players might be hampered visually. These include blizzards and fog. Now Epic Games has toned one of these down.
Heavy fog could make things real hard to see, just like in real life, but it looks like Fortnite has removed heavy fog from all the game's core modes. Fog can still occur but it won't be so dramatic anymore. Therefore, light and medium fog can still occur in Fortnite. Just no heavy fog anymore, got that?

While this removal might seem fairly benign, it has received mixed reactions from Fortnite players. While in heavy fog, the visibility crashes making it that much harder to see other players, some seem to like this.
One comment on the FortniteBR subreddit, for example, suggested heavy fog was bad because "you can't see shit", with this comment getting 447 upvotes at the time of writing, a response argued that this is why "it's so fun" and that it is also "super fitting for October" and that it "sucks" that the heavy fog has now been removed. This comment got 577 upvotes at the time of writing.
With Halloween right around the corner, players lamented the removal of this potentially spooky weather as autumn settles in. "I LOVED heavy fog," wrote another, going by the username Intoxicated_Batman. "It added such a great element to the game at random points. I play casually now, but whenever fog took over it increased a sense of alertness so much, I would be on the edge of my seat! Gonna miss it."
