The latest update for Fortnite is here and Chapter 4 season 2 may be its most radical change yet as players take to a neon-soaked future city complete with grind rails, swords, Japanese inspired buildings, and an Attack on Titan crossover event. While portions of the latest Fortnite season were leaked by dataminers or teased directly by Epic Games, the newly released gameplay trailer gives fans a lot of insight into what they can expect right out of the gate.
Chapter 4 brought a host of major changes to Fortnite including an engine switch, utilizing features from Unreal Engine 5 like the Lumen-powered global illumination, Nanite technology for crisper detailing, and more. However, that Medieval setting with crossovers from The Witcher and DOOM appeared to be only the first step in showing off the new visuals, as Chapter 2 pushes things further with a futuristic city setting soaked in Neon lighting mixed with more tranquil Japanese-inspired villages dotting the map.

The latest Fortnite gameplay trailer highlights all the new changes, almost making the traditional battle royale look like an entirely different game. The gameplay kicks off in the rainy MEGA City environment, where players can grind and fight on fast moving rail systems or take to the streets for more urban combat. Before long, the trailer switches to a Japanese-inspired country side called Steamy Springs, showcasing the new Kinetic Blade weapon with one of the latest characters to join the roster called Mystica.
