Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, who recently partnered to create the dynamic duo Silk Sonic, have just been added to Fortnite. These contemporary R&B legends were added as part of the game's Icon Series, whose alumni include Fortnite renditions of Ariana Grande and Travis Scott.
As a massively popular live-service title, Fortnite receives regular updates and content drops from developer Epic Games. Fortnite has adopted a seasonal model, as have many other free-to-play games, that creates a structure for the release of new maps, gameplay modes, and in-game events and activities. The most common type of DLC comes in the form of Fortnite's many purchasable skins; iconic fictional characters like Spider-Man and Batman have been added to the store, in addition to popular celebrities like Marshmello. These skins will often come with their own unique animations and equipment sets, though these are generally purely cosmetic and do not offer explicit gameplay advantages. Some skins, however, like Fortnite's Spider-Man skin, have been called pay-to-win due to exploits players have found with these unique animations.

For players who want to forgo stepping into the shoes of a superhero or action star in favor of something a bit more grounded, a new set of skins based on the likenesses of Silk Sonic's Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars has just been added to the game, according to a Tweet from the official Fortnite Twitter account. While these skins will, of course, be available to purchase via the in-game marketplace, players can compete in the Silk Sonic Cup on February 7 for a chance to unlock the cosmetics early.
