Ford F-150 Lightning Range: How Far Can It Go On A Single Charge?
The Ford F-150 Lightning is one of the most talked-about electric pickup trucks right now, but how far does it go on a single charge? Ford's F-series pickup trucks are wildly popular in the U.S market, and the F-150 is the best-selling model in the company's lineup. The gas-powered version is currently in its 14th generation, having been initially launched in 1948. As for the electric version, Ford unveiled it in May 2021 before announcing more details about it in March 2022. The truck began mass production in April this year, and Ford claims to have already received more than 200,000 reservations.
Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular amidst soaring gas prices and heightened environmental concerns. With EVs seen as the way forward for the automotive industry, most automakers are adding multiple new electric vehicles to their portfolios. Some, like Hyundai, are planning to stop developing new internal combustion engines entirely and transition fully to electric in the coming decades. The electric pickup truck segment has also recently seen frantic action, with multiple models being announced over the past couple of years. That includes the Chevy Silverado EV, the Hummer EV, the RAM 1500 EV and the Rivian R1T EV, among others. Then there's the Tesla Cybertruck, which was unveiled back in 2019 but is only expected to enter production next year.
