While the Flash is able to outmaneuver and eventually defeat virtually any villain he encounters thanks to his super-speed, this power wielded by the Scarlet Speedster has one weakness that can kill him in seconds.
In The Flash #163 by Pat McGreal and Ron Lim, DC's third Flash, Wally West, receives a present from a mysterious ‘Uncle Toby’ who he assumes is a relative of his wife, Linda. However, when Linda asks Wally why she’s never met Uncle Toby before, the Flash becomes skeptical of the gift and checks it out one last time before going off to bed. Sure enough, this ‘Uncle Toby’ didn’t exist as it was a cover name for a villain who actually sent the Flash a bomb disguised as a turtle dove figure. The Flash quickly brings the explosive to a safe distance mere seconds before it was set go off, but afterwards he realizes that he wasn’t the only hero who was targeted. A few members of the Justice League including Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Aquaman were also sent hidden bombs that were all due to explode in less than a second. So, the Flash zoomed around to all of their locations and found the deadly explosives before his friends even knew they were in danger, though the Flash found himself facing the very real threat of his own demise upon his rescue of one hero in particular, and it had nothing to do with the bomb.
