Nintendo has just unveiled a brand-new trailer for Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, an upcoming spinoff that swaps the turn-based combat for hack-and-slash horde-slaying action. This new trailer gives us a glimpse at the new playable character, returning faces, and the main villain, Byleth.
Byleth was Three Houses' protagonist meaning that we chose their gender as the player, so we get to do the same in Three Hopes. We're given a prompt, "Select the Ashen Demon's form," while the narrator says, "Gonna be one hell of a fight, especially if the Ashen Demon is here. Don't like a smidge of what I've heard about that fella... Or was it a woman?" That way, Three Houses avoids giving Byleth a 'canonical' gender, letting the player take control.

We also get to pick from three factions as the new playable mercenary Shez - you can join Scarlet Blaze, Golden Wildfire, or Azure Gleam, with each branching out into its own narrative in the game along with unique units and endings. And along the way, you'll encounter plenty of Fire Emblem characters whether it's Edelgard, Dimitri, or Claude.
While it's a hack-and-slash akin to Age of Calamity, Three Hopes also boasts more tactical elements with the game's overview map that lets you plan out battles and strategise your path toward victory. All the while, you can train alongside these familiar faces to boost stats and skills, building Shez up to entirely new strengths.
But if Three Hopes isn't your thing, there are reports that a new mainline Fire Emblem is under development at Intelligent Systems. There's little in the way of news or leaks regarding this alleged title, but it is said to be close
