In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the Blue Lions feel like a natural starting point when exploring the game's different routes. Dimitri seems a noble, upstanding sort and the rest of the house feels well-rounded, with a host of interesting characters to get to know.

This is largely the same in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Dimitri makes a strong first impression and the obvious tight-knittedness of the class only serves to make them a more attractive prospect. Shez is able to fit right in, with a little bit of effort, and they make for a fantastic band of companions.
If you compare all three houses against one another, you'd notice that the Blue Lions roster feels the most classic, as it resembles the roster of an earlier Fire Emblem game, thanks to the balanced coverage of classes. You have a Lord, a Cavalier, a Myrmidon, a Mage, a Priest, an Archer, and a Pegasus Knight - it doesn't get more well-rounded than that. You have a unit for every occasion. Heck, Three Hopes even adds a new Cavalier to the bunch, which is even more traditional!
In terms of actual damage output, the class has quite the emphasis on Spears, with Dimitri, Sylvain, Ingrid, and newcomer Rodrigue all wielding pokey sticks. In comparison, you only have one Axe-wielder in Dedue and if you don't count Shez, Felix is your lone swordsman. What this means is that you're sorely lacking a fist-fighter, and they're very fun to use in this game. Of course, a bit of class-changing can solve many of these problems - if you do see it as a problem - and you'll get the chance to recruit plenty of other characters to bump up your diversity.
