Patch 6.57 for FFXIV dropped in the early hours of February 13, bringing a host of updates in preparation for the upcoming Xbox open beta, lifted raid restrictions, and better A Realm Reborn quest rewards. It’s not a big patch, but it’s one worth mentioning.
The biggest change with Patch 6.57 is the Anabaseios: Savage restrictions have been lifted, so you can now farm the raids to your heart’s content. Two Treasure Coffers now always appear after a clear, regardless of previous completion by players, while players can now proceed directly to any Circle, whether or not they’ve completed previous circles.
Additionally, parties are granted the Power of the Echo, giving a slight boost to groups to complete the Duty. Sadly, the Echo will not increase in the event of a Party wipe, but that +10% in HP, damage, and healing potency sure helps.
As for grinding Tome gear, the weekly cap for Allagan Tomestones of Causality has been doubled from 450 to 900. It’s now possible to grind enough Tomestones for either a Chest piece or a Leg piece of the iLvl 650 Credendum gear in one week.
The open Beta for FFXIV on Xbox Series X|S begins on February 21, 2024, but according to the Known Issues section of the patch notes, Xbox players may not be in for a smooth ride. All of the known issues in this patch relate to those taking part in the Beta, and some of these issues include:
With the latter two issues, switching your input method will resolve the issue.
